Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) is where an employer would agree to reimburse the employees’ medical expenses not covered by health insurance. In an HRA the employer has a defined contribution maximum per year.
Funds that are not used this year may or may not be allowed to rollover to the next year. HRAs can only be funded with employer contributions - no employee contributions are allowed.
